BBB 2.3 "Failed to process office document. Please upload a PDF instead"

Hey guys,

Is anyone else having issues with document conversion? I'm seeing this error below when I try to upload any non-pdf document:

No errors with bbb-conf --check. I installed 2.3 with install script on clean Ubuntu 18.04 bare metal dedicated server.

Is there anything else I can check?

I've followed some advices I could find on the internet (https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bigbluebutton/issues/11089), and it looks like bbb-libreoffice service is not running on my server.

# docker build -t bbb-libreoffice docker/

Can someone just tell me how to run these four services? Because document conversion is still not working on newly installed bbb 2.3.

Is it really bbb-libreoffice?

Looks more like bbb-soffice on my site (bbb 2.3.1)

# docker image list bbb-soffice

I also have no bbb-libreoffice (or bbb-soffice) service on my system.

Maybe you can try

apt-get --reinstall install bbb-libreoffice-docker

Thank you very much for your response. You've been correct about the bbb-libreoffice and bbb-soffice. However, it didn't solve the issue, documents are still failing to convert.

What I did was I've removed all manually installed bbb-libreoffice containers and images on docker, reinstalled docker-compose and trigger reinstall of bbb-libreoffice-docker

# docker container kill $some_id

# docker image rm $some_id

# sudo service docker restart

# apt-get --reinstall install bbb-libreoffice-docker

# bbb-conf --restart

after that I see this:

# docker-compose -v

docker-compose version 1.29.2, build 5becea4c

# docker -v

Docker version 20.10.6, build 370c289

# docker image ls

REPOSITORY    TAG           IMAGE ID       CREATED          SIZE

bbb-soffice   latest        acdc969a235f   10 minutes ago   2.13GB

Reinstallation of bbb-libreoffice-docker took some time, but it successfully installed

Successfully built acdc969a235f

Successfully tagged bbb-soffice:latest

But still failing to convert documents in BBB :/

Any other advice I can try?

PS. I tried with jpg, png images and no issues or whatsoever, only office documents are failing to convert

Please list the conversion scripts

$ ls -la /usr/share/bbb-libreoffice-conversion/

We want to check how old the bbb-soffice image is

$ docker images

Please list the exact version of BigBlueButton

$ bbb-conf --version

Please list the version of package bbb-libreoffice-docker

$ dpkg -l | grep bbb-libreoffice*

Quite a few things changed with bbb-libreoffice-docker in the last few iterations of BBB 2.3 but the systems I have access to seem to operate the conversion correctly.
