camera is being used by another application

Hello,

I am new to BBB and successfully installed it, after installing it, I cant start the camera or desktop recording. The camera gives the message "camera is being used by another application". while the desktop recording just greys out and shows nothing. am using ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a google chrome browser.

Hi Yemi,

Assuming you have a working camera, only one application can use the camera at a time.  If you restart your computer, for example, and still can't access the camera, we would ask if other applications are able to successfully access it?

Hi Fred, Im facing the same issue for camera and its only coming in Chrome. It is working fine in firefox. I have restarted my pc and closed apps like skype. I am using windows 7. Exact error is "Your webcam could not be opened - it may be under use by another application"
