Recording Player to Enable SUBTITLES and SPEED options

Hi,
How can I enable English Subtitles and multiple speed (-3, -2, -1.5, -1, 0, 1, 1.5, 2, 3) options in Recording Player? If there is an option to ENABLE, DISABLE them then that would be nice.
For English Subtitles, I understand I will need to provide VTT file to the player to play English Subtitles.

Sorry if this has been already answered. I couldn't find after multiple searches through different keywords.
Subtitles and Speeds are important to us because recordings go for over 4 - 4.5 hours and students come from all non-native english backgrounds.
To my understanding with Subtitles, VTT file generation is the only major issue on top of the captions/subtitle support by the player itself. We are ok with VTT file manual generation for our recordings. So if subtitle option can be enabled with BBB player then that would help resolve the Subtitles need.
And with speed, it would be good if play speed can be increased or decreased. So that native english speakers can just go quicker and non-native english speakers can go slower to understand clearly.
Appreciate your guidance on this.

Alternatively, it would be easier if there is a possibility to just replace the BBB recording player (just the video part) to some third party custom player. The HTML video player we use has both speed and subtitle options so that we can use with BBB recordings.

Hi
BigBlueButton currently has 2 players. A legacy player at the v2.2 packages and a new player that is part of v2.3 but can play older recordings (https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bbb-playback). Both of them have closed captions support and the new player has multiple speed options.
If you need extra customization, you can fork https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bbb-playback and modify it as much as you like.

v2.3 seems to have good set of other features too on top of that multiple speed option. I tried to find roadmap for General Availability of v2.3. Do we have any indications about it?
