I have installed Wordpress 3.7.1 on a separate VM and I am trying to install the BBB plugin.
I have BBB installed on another separate VM

I am getting the error:  Unable to locate Wordpress Content directory (wp-content) when
I try to install the plugin.

I've googled and found multiple solutions but none have worked.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray,

I just setup a new WordPress server running 3.7.1 and installed the BigBlueButton plugin.  I left the default values (which points at a test-install server) and it works.

Can you try it on your end with the default values?

Also, can your WordPress server make a direct HTTP connection to your BigBlueButton server.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by default values?
And yes, I can http to the bbb server from the WP server.

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Raymond,

The default values are provided in the text around the URL and shared secret (salt).  Here's a screen shot

If you use the values for the test-install server, then you can try the WordPress plugin with a different BigBlueButton server and let us know if your hitting the same error.

Boy I am feeling dumb now.  I have never seen those values during install, unless I missed them?

I'm still not sure what you are asking.   I guess I can nuke both BBB and WP VM's and start over?

Hi Raymond,

The values are accessible if you go the WordPress dashboard (login as admin) and choose Settings -> BigBlueButton.

I guess I can nuke both BBB and WP VM's and start over?

Perhaps, but it would be good to figure out why your current setup is not working.  Try using WordPress with the default values and let us know if it works.

Fred,

I am not seeing anything for BBB under the Wordpress settings.  As I wouldn't expect to as the plugin is not loaded?

Ray,

When you have the BigBlueButton WordPress plugin installed, this is how it should appear

If your not seeing 'BigBlueButton' under Settings, then you need to install it first.

Your right.  Should have read your original post more closely.  I did some Googling with the error message.  The following post should help

Hi BBB-Folks,

I need some noob questions to be answered.
Is there a way to run bbb on ubuntu 12.04 as my dedicated server has no
10.04 option available?
I tried
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/bigbluebutton-dev/cIGUQBLiSoU
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#%21topic/bigbluebutton-dev/cIGUQBLiSoU> but
audio was'nt working and after tweeking a little I finaly gave up on an
unresolvable error on openssl.so which won't be found in ruby1.9.2.

Asuming that it is not possiblle to use 12.04, I setup a kvm with 10.04
and bbb installed, hosted on the dedicated server, but I did not manage
to connect to the vm through the bridged network. Any hints on that:

Only the host has an IP (static) the vm has an IP of class
192.168.1.122, where to look for a potential solution?

Both machines can ping each other, the host runs also nginx.

Thx for helping me.

Carsten

Hi Carsten,

Is there a way to run bbb on ubuntu 12.04 64-bit as my dedicated server has no 10.04 option available?

We are planning on moving the packaging to 12.04 as part of the next release of BigBlueButton.  See

This is the highest starred feature request in our issue database.

It would certainly be easier for you at the moment to run BigBlueButton on Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit for the moment.
