Hi,

after installing BBB 0.71 in ubuntu 10.04 (using repository)
eveything is ok, but when I check the setting with bbb-conf --check,
show a potencial problem "Not Running: Nginx", This server could not
connect to BigBlueButton through http://192.168.0.192/

I changed the port that listens apache to 8081. I've don't found any
reference to this problem in this group, anyone happens the same?

cheers

Is there a particular reason why you changed from the default(8080) to 8081...do you have apache running on the same server? i did suggest you run apache on 8081 and let your bbb applications utilize the 80 and 8080. For me its easier to manage with apache that tomcat and Nginx :)

Regards

Hi Jose,

The problem is nginx isn't able to start. You should see this if you try

sudo /etc/init.d/nginx stop
sudo /etc/init.d/nginx start

The error is from your earlier message is

Starting nginx: [emerg]: unknown directive "server_name" in /etc/nginx/
nginx.conf:3

Did you modify /etc/nginx/nginx.conf ? There should be no server_name
directory there; rather, it goes in
/etc/nginx/sites-available/bigbluebutton. For example, here are the
first few lines from /etc/nginx/sites-available/bigbluebutton:

server {
listen 80;
server_name 192.168.0.35;

Regards,... Fred

Thanks Fred, it was the problem, after deleting "server_name" in /etc/
nginx/nginx.conf, now I can start nginx.
