Moodle integration not working - no recordings being displayed in Moodle

Hi

I'm using Moodle 2.1 and BBB 0.8 RC3.

I have Moodle setup with an admin user and a basic course and I can connect to the BBB server and start a session. Multiple users can join and have a proper BBB session. I have uploaded slides, webcam and desktop sharing and it all works. What doesn't work is the recordings showing up on Moodle for playback.

This is the output of bbb-record --list which lines up with the Moodle sessions:

bbb-conf --check comes back fine with no issues.

bbb-conf --debug comes back with:

   -- ERRORS found in /usr/share/red5/log/* --

/usr/share/red5/log/bigbluebutton.log:2012-06-11 19:52:31,375 [NioProcessor-9] ERROR o.b.w.v.f.a.PopulateRoomCommand - Not XML: [Conference 77120 not found]

I can ping and telnet to the correct ports from the Moodle server to the BBB server.

I can provide access to both if needed. They are running Centos 5.4 and Ubuntu 10.04 server respectively.

When I click on the Recordings BN in Moodle it says "No data available in table."

Any help appreciated.

Hi Paraic,

Can you try a simple test of uploading slides and joining the audio.  It looks like all your recordings are missing audio.  You need an audio track for the recording.

BigBlueButton 0.8 will record slides + audio + chat.  It will not record for playback desktop sharing or webcam.  See

For BigBlueButton 0.81, we are going to add the recording of whiteboard events, pan and zoom, and mouse cursor to the playback.  See

You can record desktop sharing + video + audio using the Matterhorn integration (but these recordings are not visible within Moodle).  See above release notes.

At this point you may be wondering, "Why doesn't BigBlueButton record and playback everything for me?"  Believe me, we would like that too, but we (the core developers) wanted to get a first release of record and playback out as soon as possible, and if we tried to do everything in the first release, it would take much longer.

So, we provide an out-of-the-box recording of audio + slides + chat.  More will come in future versions.
