The multiverse errors look like you maybe followed the steps a little top direct. There are some optional steps on the install page that might or might not need to be followed depending on the specifics of how providers provision the servers before they give them to customers. To fix the multiverse errors you'll want to edit "/etc/apt/sources.list" and remove one of the duplicate multiverse lines on line 56 or 57. Then do "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade".

You can also try the install script that we have (https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bbb-install), but you really need to read the whole page and understand it before you try.

I completely agree with Chad.

the install script prepared and available instructions at https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bbb-install just works so well that once the script will complete you can just test your demo and it will work perfectly. For me it did twice.

As also Chad pointed before running the right command on that page, read through once and decide what case you would like to follow.

Take Care.

Oh Yes, Thanks Guys. I read through it, and made few changes to the source.list. Then ran sudo apt-get install bigbluebutton and whoa, it started the installation. As at the time of this, it remains 10 mins to finish the downloads.

I am doing this on VM Ubuntu Server 16.04. Is it possible to take this fully online, I mean, host this from My VM so it can be accessible by all on the Net.

If yes, Kindly assist with a tutorial Link or guide so i can continue my learning and Reading.

Thanks

Oh Yes, it did. Completes successfully, and i installed the bbb-demo. But, since its just the demo, anybody can start it up knowing the url.

i am presently reading on GreenLight, and even at that, i am planning on Connecting it to the internet through port forwarding on my Router. I want to belive its possible.

But, the GreenLight is my next Phase, the installation Procedures are for Online servers, what about VM, How do i install SSl on VM (Locally), Will it install..?

I don't want to brick any codes.

I wish You can direct me.

Thanks sir.

To allow outside access you need to allow and forward TCP ports 80, 1935, 433, 7443, and UDP ports 16384 - 32768. Every router is a little different for configuration and if it's a residential internet connection some ISPs disallow hosting servers and they usually don't have enough upstream bandwidth.

Hello Fred and All Developers,
I have a challenge, i am properly setUp, and if i connect to the BBB server, i can join in the demo.

But My Challenges includes..>!!!

1. When i change the host name to the Ip address used to connect with my router to the switch in order for other PC's to view the server on local Network, it shows only success Page. with these codes in it/..>>!!!
<response>
<returncode>SUCCESS</returncode>
<version>2.0</version>
</response>

 And Nothing More. But, if i change it back to the IP address of my phone network i used during installation via Hotspot Tethering, the page opens up via bbb-conf --setip HOSTNAME

Hi

You can't connect to the BigBlueButton server with both the IP address and hostname, only one of them.  To use SSL (recommended), you must use the hostname.

> PC's to view the server on local Network

On your local network, if a user pings the hostname of the server does it resolve to the internal or external IP address (it needs to resolve to the external IP address to work correctly).  See
