I see that, bigbluebutton does not support for dual monitor mode yet:
- One monitor we can see ppt file
- One monitor we see all webcam
-> more easy for teacher to checking students
If bigbluebutton support this function in near future, it will be great function.

Hi,

It's probably harder than it seems hehe, yet, if you use a browser that
allows it (Firefox does), you can use the picture-in-picture feature to
extract one webcam / screenshare and put it wherever you want!

Cheers,

Gilou

There's an issue open for something very similar to this: https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bigbluebutton/issues/11403. You can track progress there.
There's also a great PR open targeting it; if you are adventurous enough, you can pick it and use it in your env.

As stated above, the PR #11645 is probably what you want. I am using it regularly in real lectures and it is working well so far.

A potential problem is that the PR does not care about the layout rearrangement. I am not sure what happens when many students join the meeting with the webcams on. Please report your experience in the PR post there.

Hi,
This is what we do for the better use of 2 monitors:
1 - Open one session with audio and webcam enabled and minimize the presentation, so the webcams will take all the available space
2 - Open a second session without audio and webcam. In configuration, save data we disable see webcams and screenshare
3 - Make session 2 the presenter and upload any presentation
4 - Put the browser of session 1 in monitor 1 and session 2 in monitor 2
It takes very little extra bandwidth as the session 2 will only use the bandwidht needed to change slides.
On monitor 1 we can see the students webcams and take care of the chat

Opening two sessions is an easy but decent option. However I was not comfortable with the time lag between the sessions, which is critical to do a "hybrid lecture" in which I broadcast a face-to-face session (the presentation screen shown by a projector to students in the classroom) .

Two sessions are not serious. Although as a way out is possible.

You could try one session with two clients. Use the share screen option in the presenter browser to display your application. Mute and disconnect from the audio. Minimize the browser window and or play your application full screen to display locally. Join the session with an iPad in the same location as the computer running the application to pickup your narration and the audio from the running app. Here is a sample recording...
