Hi Everyone,

This is a maintenance release that reverts a previous (faulty) fix to closed captions that inadvertently broke display of some content in the recording

With this update, your recordings should now show presentation and chat.

To upgrade your 2.0 to this latest release, see the steps at

Note:  We will be fixing the issue with display of closed captions in a subsequent release.

For setting up a new BigBlueButton 2.0 server, we recommend using bbb-install.sh as it automates most of the installation steps.  You can have a new server running in about 15 minutes:

As always, don't hesitate to let us know if you run into any issues with this release.

Regards,... Fred

Hi Fred,

bbb-conf --check says I'm still on RC10 ?

BigBlueButton Server 2.0.0-RC10 (1671)

Any ideas?

Regards,

Phill.

Hi Phil,

You are actually running 2.0.0-RC11.  Just bumped the version number in the release -- If you do the upgrade again you'll now see the correct version.

Hi Fred,

i was running a RC10 with only flash client, After upgrading to the RC11, i had this warning :

Warning: Did not find yq, some packages my not have been installed. To resolve, see
#
#   http://docs.bigbluebutton.org/install/install.html#upgrading-to-latest-build-of-bigbluebutton-20

Hi Mohellebi,

We are now using yq to better query and update the YAML configuration files for the package bbb-webrtc-sfu.   However, yq is not available in the default Ubuntu packages and you need to add a personal package archive (PPA) so your server can install it.

See the given link for the PPA.  Follow the steps at that link and you should not see that error message again.

Hi,

after you added the ppa for yq, did you issue the commands:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

to install yq?

You can check it is installed by issuing:

yq -V

Hi,

you will need to manually add yq (sudo apt -y install yq) and then run:

sudo bbb-conf --setip <IP_or_hostname>
sudo bbb-conf --check
Which should confirm yq is installed.

Phill.
