Hi,

would it be possible to replace the integrated etherpad with other chat solutions? e.g. RocketChat, Matrix, ...
What steps are required for it?

cheers,
don

Actually both rocket chat and matrix have a BBB integration… if your use case is chat centric… you that for authentication, and have them open BBB rooms.

Hi,

thank you for the quick responses.
I thought about the replacement of etherpad for shared notes. (not the integration of BBB in other [chat] tools)

Cheers,
Don

BBB already uses etherpad for shared notes. It is located at https://myBBBserver.org/pad/p/a238d145 - but you can access it only with proper keys or you would need to tweak your nginx if you want to access them publicly.

To replace the current node.js based chat with RocketChat would be some work, though. But it would make sense, we would gain emoji support and unload the node.js process, which is a bottleneck on any BBB instance.
