Minimum internet speed for optimal functionality

I am working on a feature that warns the user before class joins if the connection is not suitable. I need a minimum threshold for speed preferably in Mbps.

I thought to ask here because BigBlueButton has three statuses set for the connection.

1. Good (Green)

2. Ok (Purple)

3. Bad (Red)

How is that status determined?

The network monitor is looking at the webrtc stats of the RTP media flowing,   from user to server.

So this is much different then the typical internet download speed calculator..

I user may have a 100mb download on  speed test,   but depending on the location and internet routing of the media during a call will cause issues.
