Recently (http://bit.ly/r0hgk4) we described the steps for beta
testing BigBlueButton 0.8:
> 1. Setup http://test.bigbluebutton.org/ for wider testing of record and playback (done)
> 2. Convert http://demo.bigbluebutton.org/ to BigBlueButton 0.8-beta (done)
> 3. Publish packages for installation of BigBlueButton 0.8-beta on a Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit and 64-bit server
> 4. Release BigBlueButton 0.8-beta VM
> 5. Release BigBlueButton 0.8
We can now cross off Step 2. A few minutes ago we updated
http://demo.bigbluebutton.org/
to be running a build of BigBlueButton 0.8-beta. This opens 0.8 up to
a *much* broader range of user testing, but still gives us the ability
to closely monitor, diagnose, and fix any obvious problems. We've
also moved test.bigbluebutton.org to point to demo.bigbluebutton.org.
If you want to try out the record and playback,
1. Go to http://demo.bigbluebutton.org/
2. Click 'View API Examples' link
3. Click 'Record'
Here's the direct link:
http://demo.bigbluebutton.org/demo/demo10.jsp
Enter a description, and your e-mail address (to receive notification
when your recording is ready to view), and click 'Join'. Upload some
slides, go through them, chat with others, and then logout. When
everyone has left the meeting, the BigBlueButton server will process
the recording.
I just made a sample recording here:
You'll notice that the playback now includes playback of chat messages
(more on that in another post).
If everything looks stable on demo, we'll move Step 3. Until then,
please test out demo.bigbluebutton.org and help us find bugs.
Regards,... Fred

Thanks for pointing this out. We also noticed that webcams are
displaying maximum size for viewers ... we'll be making some changes
to fix these problems on demo.
Keep testing!
