Set password for every room

Hello,

Is it possible to create password for room when user create room? and other students need to enter password for go in to that room, Without password student shouldn't enter room.

Is it possible in big blue button?

Hi Vishal,

One of the features for the HTML5 client that we are working on is guest management -- you can have a meeting with moderators can join, but viewers need to be approved by a moderator before they can enter a meeting.

Does this provide the controls you need.  To implement what you describe exactly, you would create (or modify an existing) front-end to require each user to enter a unique password.  Once the front-end has validated the user's password, it would let them enter the meeting.

Hello fred,  

My requirement is little bit different.  When owner of meeting start a meeting one popup should appear in which he enter password and create room.  Every other user needs to validate him self before entering that room. 

You mention those steps in second paragraph.

You mean to say i can create this functionality by modifying existing code. Right?  If it is possible can you please guide me in which files i have to do changes.

Hi Vishal,

Are you a developer?  Are you creating your own front-end login for BigBlueButton?

There are no steps we can give you -- this functionality does not exist in the API demos or GreenLight.  You would need to extend GreenLight (recommend) or write your own front-end that has this capability.

To expand on what Fred said, the controls around who can join a meeting, passwords, scheduling, or any other business logic decisions exist outside of the core of BigBlueButton. Different front-ends, LMSs, or Greenlight can implement all of that functionality differently and to the needs of the front-end. What you are asking for might be provided in an existing front-end or it might require writing a new one to support your needs. I'm not aware of any front-ends to BBB that do what you're asking for.

Yes, I am developer and i am not creating my own front end. I need to extend GreenLight.
