Hi Everyone,

I realized I had made an error in the calculation of the GMT in my initial post: it should have been GMT-4 (not GMT-5).

Therefore, presentations will start today at 14:00 EDT (GMT-4).  We'll use the following server

  http://summit.bigbluebutton.org/

  password: welcome

See you on-line at 2:00 pm EDT (two hours from now).

Regards,... Fred

I was wondering whether a recording had been made available as I was only able to attend for part of the session.

Thanks

Hi,

> 1-it will be possible to lock video ,audio etc ... how about locking rooms ???

You will be able to lock (restrict) viewers from specific features, which are
  - share webcam
  - share microphone
  - public chat
  - private chat

Once lock is in place, any current viewers -- and new viewers that join -- would be locked from using that feature.

> 2-  webrtc audio  encryption

The audio will be encrypted by the browser.

> 4 - is it possible to use htlm5 without  red5 ? or we still need red5 to use webrtc?

The BigBlueButton server will still use red5.  Keep in mind the first version of the HTML5 client will not replace the Flash client; rather, it will be an additional viewer client.  The viewer client will receive one way audio, video, and presentation and enable two-way chat.

A later version of the HTML5 client will enable two-way audio/video and enable the user to become presenter.  See

> 5- tiago added rtmps support to bbb source code , does this mean that bbb next beta release will support rtmps?

No.  This was prototype only.

> 6- does freeswitch still nedded to do codec trnascoding?

Yes.

The HTML5 clients will receive a stream of audio/video, so there isn't any additional transcoding for more HTML5 clients.
