Happy New Year!
I have been managing the BigBlueButton open source project for 17 years now and it's going strong.
We believe every person in the world deserves access to quality education. That's Sustainability Goal #4 from UNESCO: Quality Education.
I've had the pleasure and opportunity to move the world a tiny bit closer to that goal through BigBlueButton. The project has seen over 100+ developers having contributed 5 or more accepted pull requests. It's localized into 65 languages. And, with my CEO of Blindside Networks hat on, we've provided over 2B minutes of virtual classes to the world.
It's the coolest thing I've ever done in my life. I wake up every day with one motto: the learning never stops.
Every person in the world deserves access to quality education. And every educator deserves the best platform to deliver it. That is why we built BigBlueButton.
