Hi..

i am unable to change the default chat content in chat window. the default chat message as follows

Welcome to Demo Meeting!

For help on using BigBlueButton see these (short) tutorial videos.

To join the audio bridge click the headset icon (upper-left hand corner).  Use a headset to avoid causing background noise for others.

This server is running a build of BigBlueButton 0.9.0-RC.

i have been changed the default content in 3 locations those are

bigbluebutton\bigbluebutton-html5\app\config.coffee
bigbluebutton\bigbluebutton-web\grails-app\conf\bigbluebutton.properties
bigbluebutton\services\bbb-web-api\grails-app\conf\bigbluebutton.properties

and i run the ant locales and ant commands but its changes are not reflected. the second one is i want to change the color of presenter name and chat message in chat window how can i do that?

The welcome messages can be found in /var/lib/tomcat7/webapps/bigbluebutton/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties.

One thing to note is that you said you edited three different files and then ran "ant", but none of the three files that you edited are actually in the "bigbluebutton-client" directory so building the client won't have any effect.

Hi Fred,

After updating this file below:
/var/lib/tomcat7/webapps/bigbluebutton/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties.

how does load the changes if still in Dev. mode and the BBB is served /home/evarsity/dev/bigbluebutton/bigbluebutton-client
since ant locales and ant build is not necessary for that file?

Do I need to restart the BBB? bbb-conf --clean?

Hi Victor,

That's fine -- changing the client does not automatically require you to change the server (bbb-web).

Once you update the bigbluebutton.properties file as Chad pointed out, and restart your BigBlueButton server, you'll see the new welcome message next time you join a meeting (whether from your client or the default client).

Regards,... Fred

Solved: sudo bbb-conf --clean required to see changes. I guess I really tried hard to get everything to work so I'm scared to restart .:)
