Hi Everyone,

To make it easier for anyone to setup BigBlueButton, we've created a BASH script called 'bbb-install.sh' that makes it possible to install BigBlueButton 2.0-beta on some servers with a single command.

On Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit servers with a single public IP address, the bbb-install.sh script can install

  - the latest build of BigBlueButton 2.0-beta

and, if you setup a fully qualified domain name for the server, the script can also install

  - an SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt,
  - the latest developer build of the HTML5 client, and
  - the GreenLight front-end.

For details on running the script (with full source), see the GitHub repository:

For a video walkthrough of using the script, see

  https://youtu.be/D1iYEwxzk0M

Alternatively, if you want to install BigBlueButton 2.0 on a server is behind a firewall, see the BigBlueButton 2.0 install documentation for steps to configure your firewall and BigBlueButton:

We welcome your feedback on this installation script and any suggestions (or pull requests) you have for improvement.

Regards,... Fred

Great Job, still preferring 4096 bit key for SSL since other WebRTC such as Jitsi is doing that for higher security too.

Kirk

Hi Kirk,

We've updated the bbb-install.sh script to now install a 4096 bit SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt.  Here's a screen shot of the results from https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/ after installation of BigBlueButton 2.0 on a test server using this script.
