As my opinion this is almost impossible..
Because even with scalelite if meeting ID is same scalelite pooler always assign users on same server
Even with 16 core 32GB Ram server after 400 user system start to struggle. Freeswitch scale Audio working quite well but nodejs make many problems..
As my experience please don't put more than 150 user to same session.
Have a nice day.

500 people in one BigBlueButton session should not be done. But it can be done maybe (with different rates of success and amounts of angry users)
Bare metal hardware with lots of current CPU cores that are especially fast for single-threaded load, and disabling the features Webcam sharing, whiteboard, participant list and chat.

Anyways, bbb is not designed for so many participants in one room. You might want to consider using a video streaming solution instead.

unfortunately, another dream of being rich with open source project is submerged.
maybe jitsi project would be more suitable.

Sorry, but BBB scales a bit better than Jitsi, because Jitsi does SFU on video and audio. BBB does MCU on audio and SFU on video. see https://bloggeek.me/webrtc-multiparty-video-alternatives/

I need to learn: 500 people in one room are too much.
But if I do 500 people in 10 rooms?

Surely possible. If you mean 500/10 = 50 user per room it is okay. (Of course without having video traffic of *all* participants. Only moderators!

Hello Mario,
In my experience around 500 user system start to struggle. Especially in chat and buttons become unresponsive ( Node.js can't handle this events)
However freeswitch scale well. Voice keep working.  I am never advice to using 500 user on one machine.
Perhaps 400 or 450 is ok but more you going into trouble.
