We have an issue where users in the breakout rooms will hear the audio from the main room still if someone is talking or plays a video in the main room. Checked that they are not joined to audio in the main room and even had them disconnect audio in both rooms and the main room audio still came through. Is it planned this way or a bug?

Hi Jeffry,

> We have an issue where users in the breakout rooms will hear the audio from the main room still if someone is talking ...

When users enter into the breakout room in a new tab, they *should* automatically drop from audio in the main room.  The main room is in the previous tab.

Is this happening each time, or randomly?

Do you know if they were still showing as sharing a microphone or listen-only in the main room?

Since they are still in the main room, if the presenter plays a video, it will play for everyone, so they will hear the audio.

Seems to happen every time something happens. When the users go to a breakout room it shows that the audio is disconnected fromt he main room but connected in the breakout. If someone shares a video or screen shares with audio, the audio in the main room plays over the breakout rooms. I would think this would not be wanted.

Hi Jerry,

That sounds right

Yes, it will currently play for everyone, even if a given user is in a breakout room.  A suggestion: if you want to play a video for users not in breakout rooms, then the approach would be to pull just those users into their own breakout room and play the video there.

That seems disruptive to me. Is there a plan for the future that would make the breakout completely broken apart from the main room?
