Hi all,

I am aware that Microsoft Edge (in its current form) is not really supported by the current HTML5 client (nevertheless, my users try to use it anyway despite of all warnings).

As far as I remember, the issues with Edge were rather related to videos and especially to screen sharing. Yesterday, I found that Edge does not show lines or symbols which have been hand-written by people or drawn into existing presentation slides during a BBB session. Is this also a known issue (and goes runs under "wontfix" as Edge come with a Chromium engine) or is a newly introduced problem? I encountered this problem for the first time in 2.2-RC-1 and see it also in 2.2-RC-2. In the 2-2-betas I've not seen it, but I am not sure, whether I actually tested it…

Thank you very much for any help!

Kind regards,
Steffen

There's been a long standing issue where Edge didn't receive (or render) annotations, but it looks like it can't write either now. The existing Edge whiteboard bug is here, https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bigbluebutton/issues/6858.

Our hope was that they would roll out the Chromium based version a little quicker because is pretty rough to work with.

Hi Steffen,

Microsoft will release the new version of Edge on January 15, 2020.
