HTML5 disable microphone and webcam

Hello,

I'm very close to setting up BBB as a replacement for wisiq in production, but I need to make some modifications, so any help or tutorial will be appreciated.

I need to force viewers to join as "Listen Only" and disable the "share webcam" option for them. (The moderator / teacher should stay as is)

In 2.0 the only way to initialize and configure the lock setting is through the Flash client. The goal of the 2.0 HTML5 client was to cover viewer capabilities so the client will obey the meeting's lock state, but there's no UI for the moderator to control locking.

just to understand I get it right:

If I want to host a conference and all participants + moderator should access by HTML5, I can set config values to the flash config file and they will be used? Or will I need to have at least one moderator active with the flash client?

As video sharing does not work Flash <-> HMTL5, the video source must be a HTML5 User, but will the config values be picked up nonetheless?

You will need at least one moderator to join with the Flash client to have the lock settings config in config.xml used to initialize the values.

Thanks for the clarification!

Now this is cumbersome, because:

To be able to videostream to HTML5 clients, the stream must come from a HTML5 client

To be able to join with Flash, settings in bigbluebutton.properties must be set to false

To change and apply changes there, the server needs to be restartet...

Do you see any way of having the stream from a html5 client while also being able to apply lock settings?

Would that Flash-Moderator be needed only to be present while other participants join or for the whole session?

Our plan is to implement the user interface for the lock settings in the HTML5 client in the near future.  This way, you don't need to have anyone running the Flash client and you can implement the above use case with BigBlueButton.

The lock settings will be in the HTML5 client in the next release. I would expect a beta for it in the first half of 2019. We don't announce release dates before it is ready.
