Hi divya

I am also thinking about to change the compiler from 3.5 to 4.5. There
are lots of modification are provided in flex in upgraded version.
flex 4.5 is quite versatile language where we can make many other
things also in GUI.

Lets see the other people's view in that.

THanks and Regards

Obsolutley,
We are looking at using BBB with an android tablet and the features of
4.5 are invaluable to us. Just my 2 cents worth.

But we can add more cool looking component in bigbluebutton using flex
4.5. Its good that you are thinking about tablet but if a person is
asking for any suggestion to enhance the compiler of BBB so that he
can improve the looks of BBB. Whats the problem with that.....

I just wanted to know here that....................is there any
possibilities that we can use 4.5 compiler of flex instead of 3.5
compiler.

Hi Gaurav,

We worked on this over the weekend and now have BigBlueButton client
compiling with Flex 4.5 (specifically version 4.5.0.20967 of the Flex
open source SDK).

You can see the code changes to support Flex 4.5 in the GitHub
checkins from 7-21 to 7-23

https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bigbluebutton/commits/master.

We will be using Flex 4.5 for the upcoming BigBlueButton 0.8-beta and
onward. This means we'll be testing the acoustic echo cancellation
as part of BigBlueButton 0.8-beta.

For the h.264 support, we found you need to set the minimum version to
Flash 11, which means the BigBlueButton client does not work under
both Flash 10.3 (current release) and Flash 11 (in beta). We'll be
setting the minimum version of Flash to 10.3 for BigBlueButton 0.8.

We'll soon be installing a of BigBlueButton 0.8 on a test server for
broader testing of both the client (making sure everything works as it
should under Flex 4.5) and the new capabilities for record and
playback of a presentation. Once installed, we'll be watching the
server for errors and feedback from the community, fixing bugs, and
moving into beta when its looking stable.

In the meantime, if you compile under 4.5.0.20967, available for download from

http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4.5

and encounter any problems on master, let us know.

Regards,... Fred
