Seems like you may have an IP mismatch.

What does "ifconfig" return as your IP? Is it 192.168.2.34/
Try running
> bbb-conf --setip <IP from running ifconfig>
and see if that works.

Just wanted to confirm
- You've installed it under Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit
- there is a /var/bigbluebutton directory
- that directory has the following permissions
drwxrwx--- 4 tomcat6 tomcat6 4096 2010-01-25 22:13 .

and...no, I've installed on a local server with Ubuntu 9.10 for
testing prurposes, before buying an hosted server from my ISP
(www.gandi.net) which will install bbb for reasons of training to
colleagues IT. I think it's just a matter of local configuration and
that does not depend on the version of Ubuntu (except asterisk on
which I have to conduct further tests). Gandi's hosting platform
currently uses 2.6.18-xenU, which is incompatible with distributions
released in the end of 2009, such as Ubuntu Karmic. This is a good
news, but i need to be ready to run bbb on 9.10 distro. Otherwise I
format my local server and run tests on Ubuntu 9.04, hoping that the
sever Gandi stay updated to ubuntu 9.04 for a long time. Suggestions
or solutions?
Thanks in advance

Currently, we only support Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit. If possible, can you
test BigBlueButton on that configuration; I think you'll find it works
much better.
We tried testing BigBlueButton on Ubuntu 9.10 32-bit in the last
iteration (BigBlueButton 0.63), but there seemed to be small
differences that needed to be investigated and resolved. Rather than
put out a release and say "we hope it works on 9.10", we decided to
focus on 9.04 and make sure it did work (at least as much as we could
possibly test).
We don't have a time frame for support of Ubuntu 9.10. If its
*really* important for you that we support Ubuntu 9.10, please e-mail
me directly.

now i can confirm that:
Yes - bbb 0.63 is installed under Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit
Yes - there is a /var/bigbluebutton directory
Yes - that directory has the following permissions
master@e-learning:~$ sudo ls -l /var/bigbluebutton
drwxr-xr-x 3 tomcat6 tomcat6 4096 Feb 1 15:23 0397d835-af70-416e-a15a-
dc410e22a2bd
drwxr-xr-x 2 tomcat6 tomcat6 4096 Feb 1 15:13 blank
and:
master@e-learning:~$ sudo ls -l /var
drwxrwx--- 4 tomcat6 tomcat6 4096 Feb 1 15:23 bigbluebutton
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 33825777 Jan 24 23:53 bigbluebutton.war
I confirm that if i load a presentation (pdf), firefox becomes gray
and after a few seconds, crashes.
What can I do now to see where is the problem?
Thanks

Hmmm... everything you posted looks good from a server perspective.
I'm wondering if this is a client issue.
- Are you uploading using Firefox on Unix?
Just to check, can you use the same browser/computer to upload to
demo.bigbluebutton.org and see if it works
- Can you try uploading using a different browser and let us know if
it works.

The audio seems to work correctly, even if my client PC feel a
constant tone in the headphones (periods of 3 seconds)
Further tests are underway to better understand how to solve.
I still believe in this case the problem is localized in my PC
Thank you very much for your help.
See you.

kindly check..

Thanks for sharing this. Our focus is supporting BigBlueButton on
Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit, but this information will definitely help us as
we look at supporting other Linux platforms in the (near) future.
