Hi all,
just wondering how could be possible to add new buttons in the
whiteboard?

For example button for triangles, right triangles,, trapeziums, right
trapeziums,polygons, Cartesian coordinate system (2D and 3D),straight
lines, dotted lines, sphere, cylinder, pyramids, cones, angles,
etc ... (may be even a Klein bottle or a Riemann's surface - ok i
pushed it a little, i apologize).
They could all be in a main button and choose from like the color
button!!!

What language are the current buttons (rectangle, ellipse, etc ...)
written in?

We might try to make some new buttons if somebody could guide us!!!

Thanks

The whole client component is written in Flash. You can follow this guide: http://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/DevelopingBBB
to get the development environment set up.

Make sure you checkout the 0.71a tag from github (by doing 'git checkout 0.71a'), since currently the master is unstable and hard to work with.

To add a new button to the whiteboard, you will want to look at the code in the Whiteboard module. It's located in the client, in the package org.bigbluebutton.modules.whiteboard.

Is there a chance for a simple Text Editor to be used on whiteboard in
BBB 0.8? We have to solve writing needs on chat area.
Thanks.

This is definitely something I'd like to implement, but currently I don't have the time.

It's a bit more complicated than just drawing freehand/shapes, but if somebody wants to try and implement it let me know. If the implementation is solid then it might be able to go into 0.8.
