BigBlueButton 2.6.6 released!

We are pleased to announce BigBlueButton 2.6.6!

This 2.6 iteration contains fixes to the client and a change to nginx configuration for shared notes. An issue with timeout causing bbb-html5-frontend failure (whiteboard marks not propagating being a symptom) has been addressed. Also Meteor/NodeJS for bbb-html5 has been upgraded to 2.12/14.21.3 and we have switched to using Meteor's Node 14 Extended Support Maintenance https://forums.meteor.com/t/announcing-extended-support-maintenance-for-node-js-14/59811

Hi all.

Recently I upgraded from 2.6.1 to 2.6.6 using the script bbb-install-2.6.sh and the result is that I cannot connect to the API. Can't open any meeting room nor using API Mate website.

The message is: Failed to connect to API.

Doing bbb-conf --check the result is:

My server is not behind a firewall. I turned off UFW as well.
I can see the index.html on the web browser too.
My host provider is OVH and after so many years this is the first time I have this issue.

Could anybody please give me an advise or put me on the way of what can be going on?

Hi @JP,

I am not quite sure what is going on but please check if anything looks odd in /etc/nginx/sites-available/bigbluebutton -- any configs that were kept unapplied during the upgrade?

Also, did you try to run the bbb-install-2.6.sh script more than once? Anything out of the ordinary displayed during it running its course?

Anything odd when running "sudo nginx -t" ? Did you perhaps need to reload nginx configs or restart BBB?
