BigBlueButton 2.3-beta-3 please specify where in the desktop version to configure the default camera image above the presentation. It is so convenient for us to work with students.

Thanks. I saw these settings in the settings.yml file. On the android it is on top. And in windows the disk - at the left. You can then move. But, as experience shows, it is more convenient when from above.

hmm, right. Checked the layout code.

I might be mistaken, but AFAIK the default placement is getting overridden with the following conditions:
  - Screen-sharing/youtube video active: top
  - You have more space available at the sides of the content area: (ie a portrait document): left
  - You have more space available at the top of the content area (eg a thin enough landscape document): top

The default config is just really a fallback.

So behavior is as expected. Layout is just trying to maximize presentation space.

But I'm curious about your use case. Why would it be more convenient to have it at the top rather than where it maximizes
the presentation space?

Hi there! Thanks for the answer.
1. I now also understand that the placement of the camera image depends on the size of the panel for the presentation. We liked it better as it is in version 2.2. *
2. In our work (9 classes from 5 to 17 students) we use as a basis - a presentation, or an image from a document camera (students fold the presentation on the teacher's command), sometimes a screen image (window). They tried to display a blackboard on which the teacher works. But the quality is lower.

But you are aware that users can move cameras to the sides/top/bottom of presentation themselves to fit
what's better in their view, right?

The initial position is just that: an initial position. End users are free to move cameras wherever they feel it looks best.

Thanks. I know it. But for children aged 7-10, this is not always convenient during an online lesson.

Got it.

Layout propagation would probably do it while preserving automatic space optimization (which is good).
