ICE 1007 error for some users

Hello I have been facing an issue in BigBluebutton meeting where only some users are not able to join the meeting. They are receiving ICE 1007 error after some long waiting. But sometimes it works correctly. Currently we are using latest version of develop branch from https://github.com/bigbluebutton/docker. We have disabled the greenlight on deployment.

Any idea?

Hello, 

In my experience, this usually happens when the user is behind a firewall or have network restrictions regarding de UDP ports. I have been able to work this around doing 2 things: 

1.-Opening the ports on my firewall (kind of hard sometimes)

2.-Ask the user to connect from another network.

Also do you have TURN server configured properly, I had users facing the same issue due to improper configuration of TURN server.

Sorry for my late reply. 

bbb-conf is not available in docker bigbluebutton instead we have .env file which contains all the configuration or individual mod/ directory customization.

Do the users suffering from this problem use VPN, IPv6, IPv6 privacy extensions, and Firefox? If so, they might see the problem when the aforementioned aspects coincide due to this "feature": https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1661059

It is happening in Chrome browser clients we have no tested in firefox yet because all our clients are using chrome. We do have TURN enabled from docker but I am not sure why it is still showing ICE 1007

Have you tested whether your TURN server is actually working and the "link" between TURN and BigBlueButton is fine? You can check this by forcing a Firefox client to use TURN (about:config --> media.peerconnection.ice.relay_only=true)? Maybe the clients suffering from the 1007 errors are clients which have to use TURN, but TURN is not working properly.
