Hi Alex,

It's not possible to use an IP camera out-of-the-box, unless the provide drivers to have it work as a DirctShow device.  

Flash requires that the camera appear as a DirectShow device.   For example, if you can see the camera as a source for Windows Movie Maker, you can use the same camera for a video source in Flash.

Hi Alex,

I can only confirm what Fred said. But as I just ordered and tested a Camcorder with bbb I can tell you there are out-of-the-box possibilities.
My easypix DVC 527 HD would install the needed drivers on usb plugin. Right after that it was useable as a webcam device for bbb.

However I can now recommend that device because the resolution as a "PC-CAM" is way worse then my HD webcam (which was a lot cheaper btw). Also zooming was turned off when used as a PC-CAM. But I think if you do more research then I did you couldt find a camcorder with proper directshow drivers.

my experience with a sony hdr-cx250e and BBB is this:
connect the cx250e to computer by a usb video/audio caputure (like hauppage or roxio) and install the drivers.

After this you can see the usb video/audio capture device like video and audio source in your flash plugin.

I don't know why but, for me, only work with windows Vista.
If i try with Windows 7 the system tell me the camera7device is already open by another application ... but there is no other application open

Of course the quality is not the best, but for my really limit upload speed is enought.

Can we take Video source from DV or HDMI port for Bigbluebutton 0.81-dev, Because i want to use high quality video camera like sony ratherthan webcam, is there any possibility, bcoz bbb supports only flash plugin, if possibble please suggest me camera model and procedure..

Search for webcam emulators. They will recognize your (IP) or DV cam and emulate as if it is a normal webcam for Flash / BBB.
