I have really great news:
"Big five lite" is available for free right now in the AppStore!
Get it here: http://tinyurl.com/ctpwya
The main difference to "Big Five" full version is that it shows an
advertisement on the configuration screen.
As before Big Five enables you to write web applications for the iPhone
using build in functionalities like:
- get current geo position
- access the camera and photo library and send image to your server
- use the data from the accelerator sensor
- let the iphone vibrate
more features will be implemented in the future
You don't even need to touch XCode, Objective-C etc. and do not have to
become an iPhone Developer! That enables a lot of people to write more
sophisticated web applications. Get the needed infos from these sources:

If one day you decide to publish your application as a native one for
use in the iPhone AppStore you might have a look at the (maybe a little
outdated) material on http://code.google.com/p/big5/ or have a look at
the similar solution of PhoneGap http://phonegap.com/
A nice new feature to mention is that the "Big Five lite" app allows you
to set your own icon on the springboard (home screen of the iPhone) as
if it was a native application. It is as easy as:
1. Opening the following URL in Safari on the iPhone:
http://www.big5apps.com/bookmark
2. Type the URL of your web app in the text field, e.g. the demo app:
http://www.big5apps.com/demo/
3. Press the "+" button in Safari and choose "Add to Home Screen"
Voila, you are done! You can now launch your Big Five web app directly
from the springboard.
Enjoy the tool,
Dirk
