Hi Travel Enthusiasts!
Given everything that has been going on over the last few weeks, I wanted to give you an update on the Novel CoronaVirus and how it might impact your travels.
When I last spoke to you about the Novel Coronavirus a few weeks ago, we mostly discussed the precautions you can take to protect yourself for potentially contracting the illness when traveling and protecting yourself from the loss of any money spent with travel services providers. If you want to refresh your memory, you can read the blog post on that topic here.
In addition to being a lawyer, I also hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health (with a specialization in Health Promotion and Epidemiology) so I must admit that I find the whole discourse around the novel coronavirus pandemic interesting. Since we last spoke, COVID-19 (or the Novel (or New) Coronavirus) has made quite the impression.
- Schools are being shut down and going to virtual classroom operations,
- if you receive travel deal alerts, you also know that travel service providers have dramatically cut prices on flights and hotels to try and recoup some lost profits,
- Flights are emptier and some airlines (such as FlyBe) have been pushed into bankruptcy (or received economic relief packages),
- the World Health Organization officially declared that the spread of novel coronavirus has reached pandemic levels,
- the financial markets have been a roller coaster ride and the list goes on and on . . .
but of particular importance to those of us with a wanderluster's spirit are the Traveling Restrictions and how they might impact us so here is a summary of certain global travel related restrictions. You can read more about the travel restrictions on my latest blog post here.
That’s it for now! If you know a friend who may be interested in the content of this email, please feel free to forward it along and share the love. Did you get this email from a friend? Sign up here to get future e-mails delivered directly to you.
Thanks for reading & happy DIY traveling.
