MOTB 2012???????????

Just gotta ask, will there be a MOTB 2012?    Our schedule is in serious conflict with previous years.  Anybody hoping we can do it again?  What plans should be attempted.  How do we avoid the conflicts with the USA events, and still run the best road in the USA?  Suggestions, thoughts?  And to add to the mix, I still want to do the Going to the Sun Road with some MINIS/Minis in a row! Someday!

Russ, we would love to make the ENTIRE MOTB this year, and we are hoping there will be one. Scheduling conflicts abound, it seems, but is there a chance maybe squeezing in a later date? I know the national events are important to many owners, but some of us would just like to motor with other Minis.

If not, we would live to do the Going to the Sun with MINIS/Minis. In fact several owners here have indicated this year may be a good one to shoot for. If you wish, I can do some preliminary scouting for the MOGTTS as I am over that way a lot.

I had thought about a later run, too. Of course I'd love to do both
MOTB and MOGTTS, but ambition and reality sometimes conflict. For
MOTB - Memorial day to Labor day are the realistic times for when the
pass is most likely to be open. For MOGTTS I think it is July 1st?
to ?????, do you know? So, later doesn't go into the fall very far.
Mid to late Aug could be the mostly likely time, but then one or the
other of the "pass" runs would be the considerations. When MOTB
first started there were some constraints for those involved with
schools and colleges. In the last couple years we just picked the
most likely date and when with it! We have tried Sundays, and last
year it was a Saturday I believe. Ah, decisions, decision. I'd say,
go for it with regard to scouting the MOGTTS. And lastly, for us, it
means almost and 8 hour drive just to get to MOGTTS area; but that
could be with other MINIs enroute! We'll see what dust we kick up
with this discussion. :)
