First of all, the seat is 1/2" higher and the handlebars are 1/2" lower than stated in the item description. This may seem like a insignificant difference, but when you're talking about a small child riding it, it makes a big difference. We purchased this trike thinking that the thicker, rugged tires would make it better for use around the neighborhood. Well, the first time our son rode it, it tipped over whenever he hit the slightest uneven surface, such as the edge of a lawn. This trike is supposed to be for ages 4-8. Our son is 3 1/2 but is the size of a 4-5 year-old and it was way too big for him. We will be returning it to purchase a 12" version and won't be paying the additional amount for the "rugged" tires. The bike is well made so we will stick with the same brand.
