3.  Peace organizing meeting, Monday April 13th 6-8 PM at the Kea'au Community Center.  meetings are regularly held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.  Please mark your calendars and share widely.

Two Week Ceasefire Announced in 

US/Israel War on Iran! 

Will it Hold?

     I am writing this on Tuesday afternoon, April 7^th shortly after the Two week Ceasefire has been announced, so details are limited. The Ceasefire is good news, instead of Trump’s plan of bombing Iran back to the Stone age and destroying Iran’s whole civilization. But will it hold? The Ceasefire is also to apply to Israel’s war in Lebanon. CNN reports that Israel continues to carry out strikes on Iran. Along with the Ceasefire, the Strait of Hormuz is to be reopened to oil shipments.

     It’s been reported by several international news agencies, including CNN, that thousands of Iranians formed human-chains over bridges and around critical infrastructure that Trump was threatening to attack. Had Trump’s reckless war of choice gone forward, destroying every bridge and power plant in Iran as Trump had announced, there is no doubt the death toll would have been horrendous. The US Congress is now pushing for a War Powers Resolution to prevent any resumption of a US attack. That’s important but the immediate good news is that Trump has backed down from his threat of Iran’s “whole civilization” dying tonight. Trump has also said that Iran’s 10 point proposal is a “workable basis” to negotiate further.

War is not the Answer!  Peace is a Victory for All!

1. Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject violence & war as solutions. 3. Defend civil liberties.   4. Oppose all discrimination: anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-Hawaiian, 

anti-Black, anti-Asian,  anti-Russian, anti-LGBTQ, etc. 5. Seek peace through peaceful means and work for justice in Hawai`i and around the world.
