Whats in the fridge?

Who?:
Left Hand Brewing Co. - Milk Stout
What?:
Milk/Sweet Stout - 6.0%
Where?:
Longmount, CO
Why?:
Left Hand is new to the Buffalo area, and this beer is one of their best, as well as an excellent example of the milk stout style. Pours very dark with a creamy head.  The aroma and taste comes alive with roasted dark malts, sugar, vanilla bean, and coffee grinds.  It has a medium body mouthfeel with a creamy lactose undertone.  We love this beer and haven't been able to get enough of it lately (even in this hot weather.)

Whats brewing?

Or, better yet, what isn’t brewing!  We’re just finishing up a brewing cycle, and have five kegs of fresh beer all but done.  News flash: it’s hot outside – which means it’s time to break out the Blonde Peach, our Belgian-style summer beer.  We’ve tweaked our recipe and method quite a bit on this latest version.  Come out and try some at a tasting!  We’re already gearing up for our next brewing cycle, which will include several beers we’ve never made before.  Stay tuned to find out what they are and where you can try some!

Please note: Follow social media and the events section of our website for updates!

Dear Sam Mule

Dear Sam:

When I was younger, I remember my father being an avid homebrewer. I distinctly remember the amount of time and preparation it took him to accomplish his goal of creating his very own batch of beer (some batches being better than others). I was curious to know what kind of time and commitment it takes to open a brewery?    –Tim, Amherst, NY-

Thank you for the question Tim.  It sounds like your father was a very hard working and patient man.  Mine was an ass, but that’s a story for a different day... How long does it take to open a brewery?  We're still trying to find that out ourselves!  It is an in-depth and involved process.  Brewing beer at home is fun and can be enjoyed at one’s own pace. Owning a business is hard work.  We work non-stop day and night on our business, but we do it because we love it.  If you love making beer, stay a homebrewer - or think about getting a job at a brewery. Hopefully there will be more around here soon enough!  If you love making beer AND you want to own your own business, open a brewery.  Simple as that.

Cheers!
