Hi,
just another "stupid" question. Trying to get an i2c-bus running i
followed the instructions on the bifferboard homepage/i2c (http://
sites.google.com/site/bifferboard/Home/desktop-linux-distributions/
slackware/i2c). When i got to "the i2c-dev module was left out of the
Slackware tarball, but can be downloaded from here." I downloaded the
module i2c-dev.ko and copied it to /lib/modules/2.6.30.5-biff/kernel/
drivers/i2c/ (because thats where i2c-core.ko already was). But trying
to load the module via "modprobe i2c-dev" went wrong, message: "FATAL:
Module i2c_dev not found".

Does anyone know where to put i2c-core.ko, so that the modprobe
loading will work?

Thanks,
Rolf

Hi Rolf,

Put it somewhere in /lib/modules/yourkernelname
then run depmod -a

Lee.
