Today using a development environment, and a temporary code branch mapped to that environment from our Azure Dev Ops, I did the tutorial at: -us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/expand-app-suite-report-data-sets?context=%2Fdynamics365%2Fcontext%2Fcommerce This is the one that has you 'Expand Application Suite report data sets'

This module doesn't work the way it once did when this page ( -us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/expand-app-suite-report-data-sets?context=%2Fdynamics365%2Fcontext%2Fcommerce) was created?

Well, one question, does anyone have a link to just all the tutorials around the fleet management demo? So far I'm just thinking I need to read learn.microsoft.com/.../ from top to bottom doing each tutorial as I find it.

I think I might have figured it out... when trying to learn I've been going through as many MS Learn courses etc but sometimes I just find myself on a given documentation page. For the fleet management stuff you have to start somewhere around here: learn.microsoft.com/.../user-interface-development-home-page .... and from there you get links to GitHub's hosting of the Fleet Management Lab files.

I seems like on the page -us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/expand-app-suite-report-data-sets?context=%2Fdynamics365%2Fcontext%2Fcommerce that it's not so much a report but an interactive record by record rentals by customer viewing interface.

Feature details:
The Contoso Coffee app provides a demo tool and a related set of demo data for warehousing scenarios. You can install the extension in any environment. Presales specialists can run the tool on Cronus or MyCompany and get the setup and demo data needed to demonstrate various scenarios. For Business Central on-premises, the demo tool and data are available on the product media as source code.

My AOS server and sql server are not in same server and i tried to import contoso demo data to Dyanmics AX 2012 R3 by using Test Data Transfer Tool (beta) but end of process i got that error and i could not import contoso demo data as you see below photo.

When I look at your screenshots I noticed you haven't run the command prompt in Administrator elevated rights. The title of your window starts with "Command prompt". When run it as administrator it should mention: "Administrator: Command prompt". Make sure you right click the Command prompt tile and select "Run as administrator".

I noticed you have created some duplicate questions on this forum. I will try to merge them as moderator. In future please don't create duplicates as you are then wasting time of moderators which have less time available to also answer questions.

Couple of weeks back i have downloaded contoso demo data for AX2012 R2, however when i try to load them into my SQL server R2, i am not able to do so. I read PDF load contoso demo data test, but the initial steps are not mentioned in detail. and i have not imported contoso data before on any of the AX versions, could some one help me on this please.

Nitesh, this will write over my current company setup and configuration with demo data correct? I need to keep my company setup and configuration. I have 3rd party configuration and keys installed also that I don't want to lose.

Now come back to SQL, right click Databases under DB server say restore files and file groups. Browse to ur bak file, select same. In To database field just type MicrosoftDynamicsAX (in case of restoring MicrosoftDynamicsAX bak file). It will do the restore then u need to run the below script:

The content of the database is based on the Microsoft Contoso sample database. We added stores and customers using other files obtained by random data generation services. You can customize all these files and produce any content you want.

The transactions generated in the Sales table are not entirely random: there are parameters used to control the distribution of transactions over products, customers, stores, and time. You can spend many nights playing with these parameters, and obtain different databases that can produce trends and exceptions you can analyze for your demos.

Before any company starts using Dynamics AX, the Implementation team gathers requirements and prepares data to be loaded to the system. When Dynamics AX is installed, the data is usually entered manually into Dynamics AX. For example, for the Financial module, it is required to prepare and set up Main accounts and Financial dimensions; for the Inventory management module, it is required to prepare and set up Products list, Warehouses, Pallets, etc.

Preparing and setting up data for Dynamics AX is not an easy task. What is a plus, Microsoft has prepared the demo data to be used for the educational purposes. It is the best option for beginners to start working and gain experience with Dynamics AX.

If you have access to the Partners source or Customer source, you can find demo data here. It is recommended to use Internet Explorer for downloading it. Click the Contoso Demo Data, enable the Microsoft File Transfer Manager, specify a folder, and click OK.

Make sure that the Reporting server is installed on your computer. Go to the Windows Services and find the SQL Server Reporting Services service. If you cannot find one, you need to install it. You can find some useful info about the installation and configuration of SSRS here.

We have loaded the demo data. From now on, you can start working with Dynamics AX: reviewing different modules, entering purchase or sales orders, etc. Dynamics AX covers a lot of different business processes. It is a very interesting world where you can learn both business processes and their implementation in Dynamics AX.

I am planning to prepare the DAX trainings for the DAX 2012 Financial, Trade & Logistics, and Production modules with this demo data. Please follow me on Facebook to be aware about the training updates ?

I have tested out contoso and adwenture works but these databases are more for sales operations. There i was not able to find any customer payments table where i could test analyze ammounts customers pay and what are their debts. Also there is no Purchase data where i could test Suppliers and ammounts

With each update of Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft enhances what is often referred to as the base application and enhances the development environment. Dynamics 365 Business Central 2022 Wave 1 has several exciting new features in the development environment. One of the exciting features is the long awaited addition of a Demo Tool and Demo Data for Manufacturing Scenarios.

The demo tool and data contain products that demonstrate various manufacturing scenarios. There are demonstration data to show sub-contractors, sub-assemblies, Item tracking, and Variants, among several other functions.

The demo tool is available for both On-Premise and SaaS implementations. SaaS implementations install the tool through AppSource and the product media for On-Premise deployments.

There is the SP-SCM1009 Airpot which is a product with a bill of material (BOM), a subassembly, and Routing. The SP-SCM1009 Airpot demonstrates the standard production flow. The SP-SCM1011 Airpot Duo requires item tracking and uses components that also need item tracking. Another item, SP-SCM1004 Autodrip, has been set up to demonstrate various flushing methods for components and operations using Standard Cost. Item SP-SCM1008 Autodrip Lite has been added to the Item List to show the use variants.

The public sector has requirements for additional functionality related to budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing. Microsoft Dynamics offers specific features to fulfill the regulations and reporting requirements. You can learn about all supported business processes starting on the Public sector home page on Microsoft Docs.

To be able to use the Public sector processes, you have to enable a configuration key on the License configuration form. To be able to change it, your environment needs to be in maintenance mode.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, you could find the demo data in a separate partition. The partition concept has been deprecated in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance. Now To get the demo data, you have to deploy an environment and choose a demo set, similar to what I described in an earlier blog post about getting an empty database.

Go to your Lifecycle Services environment. Ensure you met the prerequisites for deploying a demo or devtest environment. Follow the procedure in this same document to deploy a demo environment. At step 7, you can open the Advanced settings.

On the Customize SQL Database Configuration tab, you can specify the required database. Choose the Public sector option and click Done when you have reviewed the other settings.

If you want to learn more about the Public sector features, you can go to the learning section on Microsoft Docs. There is a comprehensive training available how to setup these features: Configure Dynamics 365 Finance for public sector.
