Dear Dr. Champagne,
I was hoping that you might be able to send this out to the Bienvenidos list serve. Veronica received an e-mail from Dr. Hoy, the president of Wor-Wic, informing her that the Board of Trustees has approved the in-county tuition policy change in order to give DACA students in-county tuition. He gave the following information:
“The Board of Trustees approved in-district tuition rates for DACA students at their regular meeting on November 12th. It will take effect with the Spring semester 2016 (immediately). Our Student Services and Marketing departments are drafting the language explaining the process and requirements for the College website. Our Admissions office has been informed and knows how to deal with any DACA students who come in before the materials are published.”
Veronica and I would like to spread this information as much as possible and I would like to congratulate her on this tremendous achievement. Bienvenidos should know that this would not have occurred without Veronica bringing this to Dr. Hoy’s attention. This was not a routine change of policy, this only occurred because of Veronica.
