Dear BIDS community,

We are excited to announce the opening of the nomination period for electing two new Steering Group members! The nomination period opened on September 5th and will close on Friday, September 22nd at 11:59pm (Anywhere on Earth; UTC-12).

The BIDS Steering Group is responsible for approving and advancing BEPs through the BIDS standard process, as well as more general decisions regarding the standard. The BIDS Steering Group aims to preserve the longevity and sustainability of the BIDS standard. According to the Governance document adopted by the community in 2019, the Steering Group is intended to reflect the diversity of experiences and perspectives within the BIDS community. For more context, please see this interview from 2021 with then-outgoing Steering Group member, Kirstie Whitaker.

This year, we are seeking candidates who will replace Guiomar Niso and Robert Oostenveld. The nomination form can be found here. Along with your name and email, please include a brief description of what you feel you can contribute to the Steering Group and the goals you would like to achieve by serving on the Steering Group.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the BIDS Maintainers Group (bids.maintena...@gmail.com).

Thank you,

The BIDS team
