February 2026

Monthly, we deliver the latest Boost Community news directly to your inbox to keep you informed about various initiatives, programs, and opportunities.

You don't want to miss any of the amazing things that your fellow Boost Community members have accomplished this year!

An Update from the Team

As 2026 unfolds, we wanted to share a brief and transparent update our community.

After six and a half years of service, Elizabeth (Liz) Kohlway, Director of Global Community Engagement & Applied Learning, will be stepping away. We are deeply grateful for Liz’s leadership and for the strong foundation she has built in close partnership with this community and the Boost team. Her work, along with the collective contributions of members, has shaped Boost in lasting ways.

Importantly, Ayesha Khokhar, Senior Associate, will continue to guide Boost through this transition, providing continuity and thoughtful stewardship for the community.

We are entering a period of transition and reflection as we consider what comes next for Boost and how the community can continue to be meaningful and valuable to members. This moment is possible because of the generosity, curiosity, and engagement members consistently bring to Boost, and we are approaching this next chapter with care and intention.

As part of this evolution, the cadence and format of engagement may shift over time. We are actively exploring future possibilities, grounded in what we have learned from the community, and will share updates as plans become clearer.

In the meantime, members can expect the annual Boost Community Member Survey in the coming weeks. Your feedback, something we deeply value, will play an important role in informing future programming and engagement.

Thank you for the trust you place in this community, for your continued participation, and for your patience and openness as we navigate this transition together. Boost is stronger because of you.

Fellows Driving Global Immunization Impact

Our Fellows completed 50 projects across 25+ countries, advancing innovative strategies to improve vaccination coverage, strengthen health systems, and promote gender-responsive approaches. Together, they vaccinated over 22,000 individuals and administered more than 50,000 doses.

This year, we’re spotlighting five inspiring case studies:

Mali: Moussa Kaloga with a routine immunization assessment identified high rates of missed opportunities for vaccination and strengthened health worker practices and caregiver engagement to reduce zero-dose and under-vaccinated children.

Mali Case Study

Nepal: Dr. Alisha Manandhar's project advanced HPV and noncommunicable disease awareness by empowering health workers with training and tools and engaging communities to increase understanding and uptake of HPV vaccination among adolescents.

Nepal Case Study

Nigeria: Omaiye Benson Igoche integrates immunization services with community-based management of acute malnutrition reduced zero-dose children by bringing vaccination closer to families through coordinated outreach and nutrition programming.

Nigeria Case Study

Somalia: Khaliif Abdullahi Nouh through immunization outreach teams expanded access to routine vaccines and vitamin A supplementation for zero-dose and under-vaccinated children in high-need urban and internally displaced communities, significantly increasing coverage and completion of vaccine schedules over three rounds of community-based services.

Somalia Case Study

Sudan: Amna Khairy Abdulkareem Khairy's data triangulation project strengthened immunization teams’ ability to combine multiple data sources with behavioral and social insights to identify and target zero‑dose children in conflict‑affected settings, increasing confidence in data use and informing tailored outreach strategies to improve vaccination uptake.
