📖 New Research from the Democratic Republic of Congo

A mixed-methods study, published by Boost member Atila Mpula Nsongo, from Mont Ngafula 1 Health Zone in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, finds that nearly one in three children aged 12–23 months remain zero-dose, despite free vaccination services. Key barriers include young maternal age, low caregiver knowledge, misperceptions about costs, and caregiver opportunity costs. The study offers valuable insights on how to strengthen communication, engage caregivers, and reduce zero-dose prevalence. Read the full article to see how these findings can inform your work.
