Hello, my lovely friends,
Happy June! Happy Pride! My internet has been a bit wonky in parts of my house and I had a gorgeously written email to you all, and it went poof into the ether, so I am trying this again. I am heading to Maine on Monday for my kitchen gig at Maine Fiddle Camp June sessions and I hope to see you all before I leave (I won't be at the other June dances, but will be coordinating volunteers from afar). I will be back for the July 5 dance.
We're at the end of our 2025-2026 BIDA Season, celebrating with a mask-optional double dance jointly sponsored with CDS-Boston Centre. Our own Harris Lapiroff will be calling (mostly) English dances for the afternoon session, 4-6:30 pm, followed by a potluck (please remember to bring a contribution) 6:30-7:30, and our usual evening schedule, lesson 7-7:30 and (mostly) contra dance 7:30-10:30 pm. Music for both will be provided by The Turn Signals (Cecily Mills, Aaron Marcus, Grace Hendrickson-Jones and Molly Tucker); should be another amazing set of dances and I can't wait.
We have the following shifts available; please let me know by reply email or text to
508-282-0089 which shift you can fill.
Set-up, 3-4, 1 additional person,
Early early door 1; 3:30-5, 2 people,
Early early door 2; 5-6:30, 1-2 people,
Early door, 1-2 additional people,
Late door, 1 person.
BIDA runs so successfully on you, our volunteers. The rest of the Board and I appreciate your help, as we could not do it all ourselves. You'll dance the rest of the evening on us, and also get a ticket for a future dance.
Thinking ahead; if you know you will be at either of the June 21 or June 28 dances, and can commit in advance, please let me know.
I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday; I have several things in mind for my potluck contributions as I need to work thru the food in my fridge. What are you bringing?
Cheers,
Persis
