Hello, all you lovely BIDA Volunteers!
I hope your summer has been wonderful. I had a pretty nifty but hardworking time at Maine Fiddle Camp for June and August camps, went to a bunch of Maine dances, heard a lot of great music.
Our first dance is next Sunday, September 7, lesson at 7 pm, dance 7:30-10:30 pm. We've got Alyssa Adkins calling dances to the fabulous tunes of Stomp Rocket (Bethany Waickman, Glen Loper, and Dave Langford), and it should be an amazing mask-optional dance. We will be running an alternative air filtering test after the dance ends to see if it is a viable alternative to requiring masking.
We need the following shifts filled;
Set up (bring fans, baskets of posters, lights, reg table, 5-gallon water coolers from under the stage, set up lights & posters with tape, fill water coolers): 6:15-7:30 pm, 1-2 people;
Early Door (welcome dancers, take money on sliding scale, make tick mark to count how many dancers arrive at each time period, offer free mask): 6:30-8 pm, 2-3 people;
Late Door (welcome dancers, take money on sliding scale, make tick mark to count how many dancers arrive at each time period, offer free mask): 8-9, 1 person.
Please let me know which shift you can fill by reply email or text to
508-282-0089. I'll send a confirming email or text for your shift.
I look forward to seeing you all soon, but not at this dance. I need to be in Vermont early Monday morning to take my 3-year-old granddaughter Oona to her first day of day care and take care of my elderly granddog Winnie.
Cheers,
Persis
