Amy Englesberg is leading an open band tonight, and you're all welcome to come! Arriving around 6:30 is good because then there's plenty of time to set up sound and get ready, though it's fine to come later. More details: facebook.com/events/460812685888603.

Also, if anyone is able to come early we're looking for a few people to help move the hall's installed speakers at 6pm before the dance. The speakers were originally installed with two big ones at the back and two small ones at the front, which is a poor fit for contra dancing or anything else where you turn off the back speakers (because you want the sound to come from the band's direction). The hall has given us permission to swap them, we swapped one pair last time, and we're planning on swapping the other pair this time. They're heavy and pretty high up, and we're looking for people to hold ladders -- planning on using two ladders this time.
