Join us this Sunday for an afternoon and evening of dancing! Bret Casey leads an afternoon workshop "Ogres, Onions, and Flourishes" followed by our evening dance with Annie Kidwell calling and Good Company (Rohan Weeden, Cecily Mills, Helen Kuhar) playing!

Ogres, Onions, and Flourishes:

Join us as we explore a versatile technique for flourishes from foundational elements to a wide array of variations. Instructor Bret Casey brings 16 years of contra dance experience and 15 years of partner dance experience together to offer a unique perspective on the ways that we can layer improvisational moments on top of the contra choreography.

The workshop will be split into three blocks of roughly 50 minutes each, with two short breaks. Each section of the workshop will build on the techniques learned previously, so we encourage you to arrive on time. Familiarity with typical contra dance figures will be helpful. Admission will be on a sliding scale from $5 - $20.

We will have musical accompaniment by Helen Kuhar on guitar and Rohan Weeden on fiddle.

This is a masks required day.
