Hello all :-)

Recently I bought 3 development board of avropendous but also did received another board and even another preassembled :-) It were a gift :-) :-) -- nice to know that Open Hardware projects can help each others -- good spirit!!

http://code.google.com/p/avropendous/

I want to make the AVR programmer based on MyUSB Lib and avropendous to program other small AVR MCUs that don't have USB bootloader: http://code.google.com/p/avropendous/wiki/USBtoSerial_AVR_ISP_Programmer

Thank you :-)

Jorge,
The assembled board was sent as a gift.  I want to support your
bicycle-POV efforts.  Opendous Inc. tries to support Open Hardware
initiatives whenever able.

Hello Nikolai :-)

With header pins already ;-)

Well, buy the assembled board, it's a good investment - but If you have
components already then a board is enough.

Well, I did talked with author about my projects and gave some ideias to
AVRopendous before before buying. We talked more after by e-mail, he
told me that he is in debt, maybe because he bough a big batch of
PCBs... it's an younger student, probably without much money. We may be
in the same position with Bicycle LED POV in future, when we will need
to buy a batch number of PCBs.

So, I would say not to ask for he offer you. But I can offer you 2 PCBs
(not assembled) + mail cost postage, I think I will not need them and I
prefer to buy latter If a really need :-)

Yes, I paid by paypal.

Eheh, Microchip (PIC company) is the Evil on MCUs - this is my opinion.
And why? because not as Atmel, they don't support Free Software tools --
they did used the GCC to build it's C18 C compiler but didn't share it,
we need to pay for C18, Atmel use GCC for GCC-AVR and have employers
that works on GCC-AVR :-) -- in the end, we also pay for the development
of GCC-AVR, but at least, students and enginers without much budget can
use it - even professional companies as my use it :-)

When I were in University, other students did install hacked versions o
C Hitec PIC compiler - It's a shame, we should learn good values on
school!! - and teatchers know about this situation, simple school didn't
have money to buy it nor every student could afford it for each personal
PC.

Think about Arduino... why do you think Arduino is the best well known
Open Hardware and is used by artists, professionals on electronics and
on schools by students? because it's cheap, with Free Software tools,
and then Atmel sells well that AVR MCUs :-) and we are happy buying
it :-) - the same on Bicycle LED POV :-)

I am not worried to much, I don't depend of sucess of this project. I
will try to not invest to much money, I don't need to risk.

One friend gave the idea of trying to sell it to some companies or shops
of bicycles, but with costum animations maybe showing the logo of that
companies or shops.

I think there is need to ship the hardware with some animations!!

Okok, I will send to you next monday or tuesday :-)

Yes :-) it's important :-) -- and I prefer to be on the side of Open
hardware and Free Software :-) -- we are having some problems at my
companie because we are having some tools that burn and we can't repair
them nor understand what we are doing wrong - with the schematic we
could repair and would help us on our production phase...

There is no need, we can then use the GCC-AVR, the AVR-Lib C and the
MyUSB Lib -- we can use it for free with autorization from his authors,
not like use pirated versions of Hitech C Compiler. Even the binutils
and AVR assembler are Free Software :-)
