Beach to Bluffs Family Friendly Bike Ride
Carpinteria CA, May 13, 2012 - On Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 9:00 AM, families, as well as experienced riders are invited to explore Carpinteria by bicycle. As part of CycleMAYnia, two bike rides are being organized. One is geared towards experienced riders and the other towards families. Both are intended to be fun and not competitive. The rides begin and end under the world’s largest Torrey Pine located on Carpinteria Ave., adjacent to Rincon Cycles and The Lucky Llama coffee shop (5100 Carpinteria Avenue).
Riders will chose between two scenic routes, a five-mile bluffs trail ride suitable for families or a 15-mile moderate road ride through scenic Gobernador Canyon. The five-mile ride will include the bluffs trail and quiet area roads. Points of interest will be marked on the ride map (such as the seal rookery, Carpinteria Salt Marsh, Tomal Interpretive Play Area, etc) so that riders may stop and enjoy some of Carpinteria's highlights. Participants may start the ride anytime between 9 and 9:30 am and finish between 11 am and noon to enjoy a delicious brunch and prize give away.
A registration fee of $5 is required to for brunch and prize giveaways. Registration takes place at http://cyclemaynia.ning.com/events/beach-to-bluffs. Helmets are encouraged for all riders and those under 18 years old must wear a helmet.
