Hi All,

Someone just made me realize (Jim Pitman) that the British Library's
Data and Metadata services are using some BIBO predicates to describe
the information they are publishing.

From their snapshot, it doesn't seem much, but they may be using more
BIBO stuff in their paid datasets. (would be interesting to have more
information about this).

So, for your information:

Thanks,

Fred

Do you know (can you ask) if they have also plans to support CiTO
(developed in Oxford) [0]?

The British Library (BNB) data is being discussed in quite a bit of
detail on the Open Biblo list (http://lists.okfn.org/mailman/listinfo/
open-bibliography) and the W3C Linked Library Data incubator public
list (http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-lld/) - with at least
one member from the British Library team contributing regularly - so
questions regarding ontologies used/to be adopted could be addressed
there.

However, since CiTO (in my understanding) is about expressing how a
Citation is being used, it won't apply to the data the BL is
releasing, as this data only described the bibliographic (and related)
entities - not any use contexts.
