Enter code here...All,
Let me thank you once more for wanting to challenge yourselves to store the word of God in your hearts (Deut. 11:18). There are so many passages from each book that we should commit to memory and it is hard to choose just one, but we must begin somewhere. We will begin the new year with Matthew 5:13,
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
Nick has agreed to help by publishing each Bible Recall challenge on Quizlet.com. This website can be a good tool to help develop the skill of memorization.

It alternates the verse and the reference. When typing out the reference, type the whole name (not the abbreviation as those vary from person to person). When typing the passage out in Quizlet, do not place any quotes, just the words. It is somewhat forgiving with punctuation. It also has an override option. Each new memory passage will be added to Quizlet so that it will build throughout the year.
You might also consider the previous article which names some ways to help memorize. Think of the passage throughout the week. One could use the passage in an invitation, or reflect on it in prayer. One could find frequent occasion to recall this passage throughout the day. For example, when your season your food, recite as much of the passage as possible. The key is to use the passage frequently so that it is "branded" into your memory.
Let us be salty disciples of Christ!
Brotherly,
