"Woman" and "Beast" in Revelation 17

------ SCARLET WOMAN

" ... I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, ... 4: And the
woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold
and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of
abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5: And upon her
forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF
HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6: And I saw the woman drunken
with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of
Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration."
(Revelation 17:3-6)

"And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth
over the kings of the earth." (Revelation 17:18)

["Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your
sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red
like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18)]

" ... I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that
sitteth upon many waters: 2: With whom the kings of the earth have
committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made
drunk with the wine of her fornication." (Revelation 17:1-2)

"Fornication" = serving "wrong Lord"

"And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore
sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."
(Revelation 17:15)

"And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate
the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her
flesh, and burn her with fire." (Revelation 17:16)

sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve
stars: 2: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and
pained to be delivered. 3: And there appeared another wonder in heaven;
and behold a great red dragon, ... and the dragon stood before the
woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon
as it was born. 5: And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule
all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God,
and to his throne. 6: And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she
hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a
thousand two hundred and threescore days. ... 9: And the great dragon
was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: ... 13: And when the dragon saw that he was
cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the
man child. 14: And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle,
that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is
nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the
serpent. 15: And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood
after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the
flood. 16: And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her
mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his
mouth. 17: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make
war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God,
and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

" ... for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
(Revelation 19:10)

"a time, and times, and half a time" ="thousand two hundred and
threescore days" (compare verses 6 and 14)

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage
of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8: And to
her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and
white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9: And he
saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the
marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true
sayings of God. " (Revelation 19:7-9)

" ... I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10: And he carried
me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that
great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11:
Having the glory of God: and her light was like ... " (Revelation
21:9-11)

"Lamb" = symbol of "Jesus Christ" in prophecy

" ... after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot."
(Isaiah 23:15)
"And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the
LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit
fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the
earth." (Isaiah 23:17) ( "Tyre" was a city of Israel )

blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns." (Revelation 17:3)

" ... I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that
carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 8: The beast
that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the
bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth
shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the
foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is
not, and yet is. 9: And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven
heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10: And there
are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet
come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11: And the
beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven,
and goeth into perdition." (Revelation 17:7-12)

"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and threescore days, ... 4: These are the two
olive trees ... the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit
shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8:
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which
spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was
crucified. " (Revelation 11:3-8)

"And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received
no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13: These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto
the beast. 14: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall
overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: ... "

"Kingdom" = "Establishment of law" + "Judgment" + "Military decision"

"For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree,
and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be
fulfilled." (Revelation 17:17)

"And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red
dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads. 4: And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and
did cast them to the earth ..." (Revelation 12:3-4)

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of
the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten
crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." (Revelation 13:1)

"And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and
blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two
months. ... 8: And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him,
whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world. 9: If any man have an ear, let him hear. "
(Revelation 13:5-9)

42 months = 3.5 years = 1260 days ( in bible Prophetic callender each
year = 360 days)

"I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another
little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up
by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man,
and a mouth speaking great things." (Daniel 7:8)

"And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise:
and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the
first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25: And he shall speak great
words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most
High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into
his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. " (Daniel
7:24-25)

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the
time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be
increased. ... How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? ... it
shall be for a time, times, and an half; ... for the words are closed
up and sealed till the time of the end. 10: Many shall be purified, and
made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of
the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. " (Daniel
12:4-10)
