Sorry Michael
I had wanted to post this to the Bibledit Google group, but I have no posting privileges for some reason (though I'm a member) and Googles system won't let me email to the group either.

Grateful if you could pass this to Teus, as I don't have his email address either.

It's a message about a virus notification I got when trying to install Bibledit 5.1.018. Additionally, when I tried reinstalling the same version, my virus software notified me that it's blocked bibledit-5.1.018.tmp.
When I tried reverting to version 5.1.009, my laptop tells me "an error occured while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:
MoveFile failed; code 5.
Access is denied. ..."
This error occurs whether or not I remove the failed v5.1.018 installation or not, and what her I manually delete the C:Bibledit program folder or not.
So basically I cannot run Bibledit at all. I'll have to go back to Matt Postiff's old "desktop" version.
Thanks
Ian Scales

I got a malware alert immediately after I restarted my laptop, as required after installing Bibledit 5.1.018 (which currently is the latest version). See screenshot I am uploading here. I'm not sure what to do about it.

Hello,

The email address <iansca...@....com> is not in the list of members of this group, which explains why posting to the group didn't work out.

The Bibledit app was tested with Microsoft's own anti-virus software, and did not raise flags a few days ago when tested on Windows 10 and 11.

Will it be better if Avast is disabled or removed for just now, will Bibledit install without Avast?

Hi Teus. Thanks. I got version 5.1.009 to install, from the download I'd done in March, and which didn't raise an alarm from Avast at that time. This time, Avast did raise an alarm for that older version, the same as it raised for the newer version. So that, plus your message here, has led me to conclude that Avast is finding false positives, and so I've now set an exception in Avast. I have now successfully installed and run Bibledit 5.1.018 with no further issues.

Hello Ian,

Nice that it now works well, also with the newest version.

Yes, it looks like a false positive.

There are more issues about this virus and Avast and false positives described on the internet.
